The Art of Saying 'NO'

Yes, there is absolutely no mistake in the Title! Saying a NO is an Art all by itself.

The art which is never taught and in some people never at all learnt too. It isn’t as simple as it does sound nor is it a Rocket Science which needs too much of thinking over it. It is simple yet very intriguing all by itself.

An art of not defying what the person arguing with you but also at the same time not conceding on what is your opinion on the matter. This art concentrates on creating Win Win Situations in life at all Crossroads of Life.

Often, it is considered that people like to hear a Yes when asked an Opinion but Great Minds always value a NO cause a NO is not the end of the horizon but it gives a complete different and alternate line of thinking and perspective. NO is not just negative but is also a Mental Exercise to think beyond the Laid and Applied Principles of Life by our predecessors to a certain Way of Life. It compels to think beyond the horizon and challenges to conquer unchartered territories with a Self Belief.

History is studded with examples of the people saying a NO getting due respect and termed as the most respected minds of their times. From Birbal to Kautiliya, from Karl Marx to Martin Luther King Jr. all these guys never bowed down to their masters and say a tame Yes but stuck to their ways defiantly and earning respect.

Ofcourse, it just should not be for the sake of arguing and being the Trouble Maker but artistically done to even convince the most staunch critic of your stance. It depicts the power of your character, belief and understanding but it shouldn’t come across as rude and narcissist.

A naysayer is always a part of all Winning Combinations and Great Teams as no one but a naysayer pushes the envelope of thinking to the farthest extent to save all chances of failures however inevitable failure is though.

Hence, a NO is as important as a Yes if not more.

Cheers,
KS

Indians - The Pioneers, India - Still Underdeveloped

Hello Folks,

First of all A Belated Happy Independence Day !! Hope you all celebrated it with a fervor equivalent to any Religious Festival or a Personal Achievement.

In the words of Mark Twain, India is, the cradle of human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grandmother of tradition. Our most valuable and most instructive materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only.

Our History, if we believe, is not a short summation of some 300 years, but dates and accounts for a few hundred thousands of years. All possible human emotions, traits, glories, tragedies have been witnessed by this land. The world has credited us for the most of the famous subjects that are of practical importance to us Indians. Be it Mathematics, to Aryabhatta or Surgery to Sushruta. Architecture to Vishwakarma and even Literature to many famous people like Vyasa, Kabir, Kalidasa, Rahim.

Even in modern day world, Indian Brain is the most respected and sought out commodity. Sabeer Bhatia, Vikram Pandit, Deven Sharma, Ajit Jain, Kalpana Chawla are few names to suggest.

Still, very sadly our country is regarded as a third world country, we cannot claim to be a part of the developed community of the world. We cannot be blatantly proud and snob like the Brits, even though today we all know they are Penny Wise Pound Foolish. Americans outsource intellectual services to India and labor and manual job work to China, but still are a proud and a developed nation of dimwits.

Indians on the other hand, are pioneers, leaders, intellectuals, still have to be humble just because we are adaptable and adjustable. Powerful people in India are powerful in person but that power has not been transferred to the nation. The nation is still believed to be a land of snake charmers.

Now, with the world, where it stands, gives India the best opportunity. The youth today do not have to look to escape India, for better opportunities, the situation is in fact other way round. We stand on the brink from where economically we will be the most strongest country. All the hue and cry about the Lokpal Bill by youth assures of one fact that the youth isn't looking to escape, but clean our home and make it a better place to live.

I hope the awakening isn't a short lived one, and the resolute and commitment be strong to change things no matter the efforts and time.

Cheers,
KS

A Feeling Called LOVE !!

Hello Folks,

From the inception, I have always written on topics like Current Social Condition, our skills, the way we should better ourselves and always mentioned CRICKET somewhere or the other. This time I am attempting to write in the words of Gordon Gekko aka Michael Douglas in Wall Street on  "the longest running myth of the world, LOVE."

LOVE is a very strong word, used in a real apathy. Western culture has just made a mockery of the expression. Associated with tardy infatuations, unending lust of acquisition and the personal ego to land with the best, Love has just lost its divinity and real meaning.

Today, we love people and things which yearn and yield for us. We love people for their looks, way they talk and other aspects and if at all anything we love in them changes, our love just ends its course and we start finding another person to suit our requirements and fit the bill so we can love that person. This is purely Need to have the perfect things in life (Perfect to every Individual "IDEALISTIC"), and no LOVE. One fine day, we blurt out, you are no more the person I loved and it is all over.

LOVE is not this fickle and brittle. The only definition of LOVE is what each of our mother's have for us. That in true respect is LOVE. You may be a billionaire, successful, failure, fraudster, the best looker or probably the ugliest person on the face of the earth, for a mother's love all these are never the parameters. She loves to give not to want and demand. She doesn't expect an iota of even gratitude, even if you don't bother, she will never stop loving. Sadly, this is never given importance and respect in our Definition of Love, except on a Mother's Day when all hypocrites sing songs, glory to their mother just to show the world that Yes we care, the other 364 days when the world isn't bothered, they too are not bothered to show Love.

Love has no demands, no expectations and it just makes a way through all the bad qualities the person you love has. It is never found and never lost. If its there, it will be there ALWAYS.

Movies, some people who claim to be in love, some stories of true love are all the wrong PRO's of Love. They do not tell you the end but just end the drama when everything is rosy and nice. Whereas, a mother of a dreaded criminal or a bad man can show you what LOVE is. The feeling that doesn't change like seasons, with evolution of the person, success and failure or looks of the person is LOVE, rest everything is Opportunistic way of getting the Best and claiming love to it.

From a 2 year old kid to a 60 year old person, will always like, if he gets whatever he wanted and desired, because of an inherent need for the thing or person, but with time if it never changes, that is Love.

I made a small attempt to put in perspective, a feeling experienced by all of us, in many different ways for many different people and things. Everyone of us is right as Being Right is a matter of personal opinion and choice and no personal opinion can be wrong to the person having it.

I hope the change is refreshing and worth a thought !!

Cheers,
KS :)

Run of Ruthlessness

Hello Folks,

After a sabbatical of a month and a half, I am a changed man. Ideologies and Notions have changed like clothes in the wardrobe. The world has really gone to Dogs, and to get a part of it you need to become a Dog.

The principles of Selflessness and Philanthropy are looked down upon as a mere joke and suspicion for the underlying profit of the person doing the noble act. Its all about Self and only Self. Relationships are just need based and upon the extraction of every single ounce the relation is left and rendered useless. Relationships are more like Condoms these days, use it till you can and satisfy your need and then use another one when you are in need again.

It is all about doing the right thing every single time. Mistakes are the biggest social taboo of the world. Once on a pedestal, committing a mistake is as good as committing suicide. The Indian Cricket Team is the best sought example, where the World Champions are compared to a School Team just in matter of two games. The room for error is demolished and you just pay the price instantly if you are found committing a mistake.

We are heading towards disasters in this Run of Ruthlessness. But the person who will not want to Run it will be villain, after all he is the one resisting CHANGE. Detrimental is not a parameter of change but not accepting something that is grossly wrong in the name of CHANGE is Resistance to Change.

After much contemplation and heavy verbal duels with many people I know in person, I have come to a conclusion that better or detrimental, there is no way you can stay away from Ruthlessness, if you have dreams and ambitions to pursue. Instead, joining the fray and leading it, is a more sought out answer.

Chuck family, friends, community its time to just look for I, ME and MYSELF. If you won't look after them, no one will, SAD but A COLD FACT.

Any views to be expressed are very welcome.

Cheers

Corruption Begins at Home

Hello Folks,

The word Corruption is not a new one nor has it been brought into public existence lately, everybody knew and knows about the most dangerous and rampantly practised social evil. But, who is responsible and why does it happen ??

The answer to this is not very easy and shallow. I am trying as an humble effort to give it an explanation. The answer lies in the Definition of the Science of Money ECONOMICS, to a part at our upbringing and habit cultivation at the best school THE HOME, and to a part in Bhagwad Gita.

As per Economics, Human Wants are Unlimited and the means to satisfy them are limited. This gives rise of the human going to any extent in fulfilling his wants. It is but natural that scarcity in resources will give rise to a cut throat level of competition and well, where there is competition, everything is fair and legal to survive and Achieve. In fact, Survival of the Fittest (jungle law) is applicable everywhere around us.

INCENTIVE !! The whole world works and functions on this word !! From a grade 2 kid to big corporate honchos. What is an INCENTIVE ?? The carrot attached to a stick to get desired level of output irrespective of your inherent feeling about doing the work. Even the TIP we pay to cab drivers, waiters, etc has a meaning To Insure Performance. Bribes and Corruption is just a Glorified Incentive which lures people to take up job irrespective of their willingness or love to perform a job. As a kid, I was always given an incentive to bring marks in my exams, which always made me work hard to get the gift rather than understanding the inherent importance of studies and scoring well as a big step of my life. From that small gifts, to big Payouts in the Financial Market, everybody works towards achieving it no matter how. Shady Deals, Frauds, Scams everything in the way of a ruthless pursuit to achieve the carrot of Incentive and after a point in time meet Personal Ego Demands.

Sacred scriptures, very well philosophised, in Bhagwad Gita tell us to work honestly, without actually expecting and attaching rewards to the work performed. But Incentive decided before hand of the task performed just makes us go crazy to get it and we fall into doing tacit stuff. It is perfectly natural, cause the seeds sown are itself faulty.

It is very deep rooted in us, Corruption and its a Demon which can be destroyed only by education and the right way of looking at stuff. Going on a hunger strike, or getting public support and agitations can tame the devil for the moment, but not destroy it completely. Its about morals of the individuals involved and not with the lax of governance and law. All laws are passed with the inherent existence of loopholes. With time, smarter individuals will find it and capitalize but the Devil will always raise its ugly head again and again.

Mahatma Phule, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, Raja Ram Mohun Roy did not end evils like Sati, Child Mariages, Dowry, etc by going on an indefinite fast unto death but by leading with examples and education. Even Mahatma Gandhi did not sit on a Fast Unto Death till the British Leave India but took steps like Non Cooperation Moment, Civil Disobedience Moment and Quit India Moment. It is a process but we believe always to skip the process and come out with a result on ransom. We do not want to stop doing it at a smaller scale but want it to be stopped at the greater scale. Just because, we are not in that opportunity, the person there should be brought to book.

Stop doing stuff to get the incentive tagged to it and start doing it because you want to do it and lets inculcate the sacred value of doing things without thinking of the reward in us as well as the future generations.

As the good old saying, Charity Begins At Home !! or else lets stop whinning about it because then its Hypocrisy and no Concrete word against it.

Do offer your opinion, and we can have a dialogue about the most discussed topic of all for time being.

Resurgence - Part 2

Hello Folks,

To continue, from where I had left in my previous article, Mr. Murthy had become the uncrowned king in the Company he worked for and in the real sense was responsible also, for its stupendous growth from a small startup in the early 1990's to a mammoth IT Giant in a span of 10 years.

In that decade he had a ride without any bumps and only on the uphill. But then, in June 2002, the American Journey came to a sudden full stop. Mr. Murthy was accused of sexual harassment of his executive assistant, and was dragged into courts. He would stand accused of suppressing facts, misrepresenting them to the board and, as a former colleague points out, "guilty of a serious error in judgement". Rather than choosing to fight, he agreed to a $3 million payout to the person accusing him. Phaneesh denied being a party to the settlement, but the company says the exact opposite. With Karmic wheel in complete spin, the price was dear - loss of job and definitely reputation.

Cast down from nine circles of heaven into purgatory, he wandered looking for a fresh start. He f ound temporary relief in Quintant, a consulting outfit. He raised $30 million ($15 million was actually invested) before his funding agency, the Rs. 2,500 crore GMR Group, a successful investor in ING Vysya with large interests in power, decided to pull the plug. GMR said it wanted to invest in its power business. But there was talk of Phaneesh being unable to get revenues and business, and his investors getting impatient. Without the redoubtable army of developers, Phaneesh was forced to abandon the fresh start and allow himself to be courted as CEO of a software company iGate. Life slowly slipped back into the familiar. The future started looking more like a linear extrapolation of the past, Phaneesh woke up from a new dream into an old reality. But what matters is that it is real.

He was ready to float once more.

When you listen to his interviews it feels, he works like a modem. Like modem screeches, whines and wails as it tries to match its thoughts with the modem at the far end of the line, Phaneesh keeps rummaging, shuffling and hunting through analogies, metaphors and incidents to help prove his point. It is the glimpse into the mind of a man who is claimed to have scaled up the IT Giant's sales from $2 million to $700 million. He did it all over again.

He is travelling to various offices of iGate across the globe and confesses it to be tough and gruelling, the man who never had to try too hard to make things happen. He cheekily says "Sometimes I wonder if it was all a fluke. I really want to test myself again." referring to his innings at the IT Giant. The innings unfortunately ended in way that was never ever imagined or anticipated.

Today, iGate being much smaller company, went ahead and acquired Patni Computers, a much larger company in size and also very old and reputed company to bring him back in the Billion Dollar Club. He again reached a position where he belonged all his life, but which was not given to him as a gift just because he was worthy of it and deserved it. He had to prove his worth again to get it even though his Talent and Work was already witnessed once and was a blue chip running script for inventors across the globe.

Phaneesh Murthy will not go down in the history books with the accolades he actually deserves to achieve a no mean feat, because of lack of consistency and the scandal, but for people who actually read about him will surely not disagree that he was a Phoenix in real sense.

Hope to have offered something new and very viable to understand through the two part story of Resurgence. Please offer opinions and views to have a constructive dialogue.

Till the next work

  Cheers !!

Resurgence - Part 1

Hello Folks,

We have always been dazzled with stories in life, from fictional to mythological to real and have dreamt to make a story about our life as well. Even, a cinematic experience, can leave a lasting impact on our sub conscience.

Often, we see ourselves, doing something being played in the story and involve our mind in it. We get happy with some situations, sad with some and also greatly inspired by many situations. I have always, much like many been inspired by the story of growth, achieving something out of nothing, envisaging to create something much bigger than our existence, our being and our world, when actually everything is just a dream with wide open eyes. Hence, all rags to riches stories are the best tonic of motivation in the world. We all like reading about Bill Gates to Dhirubhai Ambani, from Roger Fedrer to Sachin Tendulkar, from A R Rahman to Eminem. All these distinguished personalities are prime examples of motivating stories and people know about it.

Today, I am writing about a gentleman, I have got to know very recently through a lot of reading and research. Mr. Phaneesh Murthy. His story, till growth is somewhat very similar to any story of Rags to Riches, but the crucial part is after, what people might say is the ultimate peak. I am sure, many people keeping abreast with the latest ongoing dealings in the financial markets, might be knowing about Mr. Murthy but this story is for the youth, the people who will get Success and the trials with it.

Mr. Murthy belongs to a small place in Southern India. In his teens, he wanted to pursue medicine, but with some parental guidance ended up giving IIT JEE, secured a AIR 132 and got selected to pursue engineering from IIT Madras. After completing his course, he still was inclined towards Medicine but once again Parental Intervention made him give the CAT and Mr. Murthy secured admission in IIM Ahemdabad.

When he left IIM-A, FMCG was big. The Nirma versus Hindustan Lever battle was drawing to a close; most people from the top of the class headed for a Lever or a Britannia. Phaneesh made the first unconventional decision of his life. He chose Sonata Software, a start-up in a tiny industry. To put things in perspective, TCS, a $1-billion company today, had a turnover of $15 million in 1987. "I did not find soaps intellectually stimulating. I wanted to do product management. In soaps or industrial products, most of the product definition is rarely changed. In software, you can use the customer feedback to improve the product," says Phaneesh. In Sonata, he also started on his first Mission Impossible. Design and sell a software for the Indian market. All the heroics were in vain though. The Indian IT industry was undergoing a disruptive change.
TCS started the offshore business model in mainframes in 1989. Soon Indian firms figured that a dollar was 17 times better than a rupee. Phaneesh realised the domestic software industry would not go anywhere. Indians could not take advantage of great products as they were just not ready for automation.

And then, in 1991, India Today carried an advertisement.
It was a two-page recruitment advertisement for a company who is now a giant in IT industry but a small one then. There was a small line at the end of the ad: "We also need a marketing manager for the US. Should be willing to relocate and travel extensively." The position did not require major qualifications. "I said this is a company that needs some serious marketing help. For every other post advertised they had at least a paragraph of qualifications!"

The owner thought Phaneesh will not be able to do the job. Phaneesh did not smoke, did not drink, did not eat meat, a perfect misfit in the marketing industry. But he liked the fact that Phaneesh was a numbers-driven, facts-oriented marketing guy. The deal was done. But before that, a target had to be set. The promoter, domestic business head and Phaneesh sat down to set one for the first year. "I told $1 million," Phaneesh says. Why? "Because it was a nice number!" Promoter agreed. The turnover of the company was about $2 million then. Domestic business head was bewildered and asked the promoter: "Aren't you going to ask him how he will get $1 million?" And the promoter replied: "That's his problem. If he wants help, he will ask." Phaneesh was told that he had one year to show results.

And he did !!!! In a span of 10 years he converted a $2 million dollar enterprise into a $700 million dollar IT giant. Such victories made the man who was once a doubting Thomas, a believer. He was not allowed to decide his career and his path of liking did something unheard off ever in the industry. He became as powerful as the promoter in the Company rather more powerful because of the results he produced.

In the process, Phaneesh broke the inverted first law of robotics: "A human may not injure a machine, or, through inaction, allow a machine to come to harm." That machine was the company. Phaneesh had already met the person who would dastardly end his dream in the company that was where it was all by his blood, sweat and efforts. "He tried to hurt the company," says a person who knows the promoter really well.

I will continue the story in the subsequent blog, hope people await it and do not look up for the person mentioned.

Until the next part,

Cheers,
KS :)

नीड का निर्माण फिर फिर (Need ka Nirmaan Phir Phir)

Hello Folks,

The title will surely make people wonder whether NEED is Want or something ?? But this is Need i.e. Base and its establishment on a continuous basis. I have been highly impressed by this poem of Late Mr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan, better known as Amitabh Bachchan's father. I came across this poem for the first time in grade 10 and was so impressed by it that ended up mugging it up and till today it is right in my mind. It is the epitome of the phenomenon of coming back after you are severely hit.

the hinglish version is as follows
Need Ka Nirman Phir Phir

Need Ka Nirman Phir Phir, Neh Ka Ahvan Phir Phir
Yah Uthee Aandhi Ki Nabh Mein, Chha Gaya Sahasa Andhera
Dhooli Dhoosar Badalon Ne, Bhoomi Ko Is Bhaanti Ghera
Raat Sa Din Ho Gaya, Phir Raat Aayee Aur Kali
Lag Raha Tha Ab Na Hoga, Is Nisha Ka Phir Savera
Raat Ke Utpaat Bhay Se, Bheet Jan Jan Bheet Kan Kan
Kintu Prachi Se Usha Ki, Mohini Muskaan Phir Phir,
Need ka nirman phir phir, Neh ka avhaan phir phir!

Kruddha nabh ke vajradanton mein, Usha hai muskaraati,
Ghor garjanmay gagan ke kanth mein, Khag pankti gaati
Ek chidiya chonch mein, Tinka liye jo jaa rahi hai
Vah sahaj mein hi pavan unchaas ko, Neecha dikha rahi hai.
Nash ke dukh se kabhi, Dabta nahin nirmaan ka sukh
Pralay ki nistabdhata mein, Srushti ka navgaan phir phir.
Need ka nirmaan phir phir, Neh ka aavhaan phir phir.

Harivanshji has here given a simple message of Resurgence in a heart yearning manner. He also created sarcasm with the example of a sparrow on the next day of a storm and lots of damage, picks up small branches of trees to create a nest, whereas, we humans are busy wondering and contemplating. The last few lines are which have left a deep impression on my mind. The sorrow of damages and loss and never be greater than the joy of Reestablishment.

I hope people enjoy and also take something from this piece of work.

Regards,

KS :)

EYES - The Mirror of our Personality

Hello Folks,

Sorry for the dreaded delay, but was really caught up last weekend. Been a good week, this, light on work and even lighter on my probabilities of finding new problems for my own self.

With my tiny experience, I always think as which sense of organ forms and builds our personality, our Eyes, Ears, Nose, Tongue, Touch and end up with the answer as EYES. We often never believe what we hear, do not care much about smell and touch till it is not disturbing and the bone less Tongue is rather the output than the contributor. Eyes is what forms us and is responsible for the Good, Bad and Ugly of our Personality.

There are no Hard Bounded Rules stating the Rights and the Wrongs, the Do's and Don't, yet we are always stuck in the moral dilemma of always doing the RIGHT thing. With things of preference, we let the very RIGHT parameters give a damn about us but when we are judged we prefer to always do the RIGHT thing.

The comments we make, the judgments we pass, the opinions we provide give a deep insight of how our EYES are and what have you seen to pass the opinion. Each opinion passed by us gives a pretty good picture of our Personality to others. By conserving opinions for self, it actually mirrors our own self and shows the scary motion picture of our standing and the way forward.

The Brain is a tow edged sword, if used by you can reap you the greatest rewards, but you let the brain idle to work by itself, it is a cruel master. To actually elaborate I give you two examples of our current week
The Death of Sathya Sai Baba and the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate.

Before reading any further, form an opinion on these two situations.............

As soon as Sathya Sai Baba left for the heavenly abode the long forgotten Questionnaire of him being a real GOD or an IMPOSTOR was pulled out. Staunch supporters fought for the Godly status, whereas Atheists and other Scientifically Advanced Mortals uploaded videos of tricks performed in the name of God and rationalizing everything he did physically etc. But, whether a God or a Magician, he did noble work of channelizing funding to build Infrastructure for his country, his Village, his people and brought many wavering people to a streamline called LIFE. Though magic was not required but then Chamatkar ko hi Namaskar hota hai (roughly Only Magic is Revered in India). Could a politician or any follower or any Scientifically Advanced Mortal or an Atheist could bring the growth of Puttaparthi the way he did......NO, so even if he wasn't a GOD, he was SPECIAL.

The other one the So much publicized wedding of the Royal Prince William. Shopping of wedding clothes to honeymoon, to invitees and non invitees, people faking invitation !!!! GOSH !!!! so much for a ceremony which is conducted on mass bases in our country ?? After creating Interest will come the disappointment of how someone did not dress appropriate to the occasion, the Fashion Police dissecting each and every aspect of the mere clothing of the Royal Couple, Family and the Distinguished Guests. Imagine people with an annual salary which is half the cost of the particular outfit worn by a particular person criticizing it in the GODLY name of FASHION......Seriously if you do not like it turn your face or gift something better. Even today, as I was going through my Facebook feeds, I saw status updates saying When will the Stupid Marriage end ?? Do not like the dress of Kate, Jewelry worn by someone as if they care about these comments of people living in a rented house with a job and a fear of it going out to competition and recession. And, for the ending of the Marriage as the Buckingham Palace is leased  by these people to the Royals..

We depict our Culture when we offer an opinion and hence we should eye it to mirror how it will be received and tattered like we are tattering somebody by our opinion.

The age old saying "What you Sow, so Shall you Reap" still holds the best.

A bit of Retrospection on the previous blog Success,  received very positively and was also asked, why did I not elaborate it more and kept it the way it was. I am very humbled by the opinion of going a bit further more but did not want to dilute the core message that being Successful is like being Satisfied and analyzing the growth on purely parameters set by the Individual and not the Worldly Luxuries and Media Hounding. Monetary Benefits, Luxuries, etc are like ancillary  articles to Excellence. Money and Show is Temporary, Class and Goodwill is Permanent. Britishers after losing half the globe owned by them still Possess and Display a Class even in the time of Economic Crisis.

Hoped the work EYES enticed you and please give me your opinions as they are really valuable to me.

Stay Healthy, Stay Wise :)

Till the next work.....

SUCCESS - The Most Subjective Object

Hello Folks,

I have been very lucky to receive a great and a highly encouraging response to my writing, but like Nothing is Perfect......so isn't the Writing. I more than heartily thank also the semi good responses but I am most humbled by the CAN DO MUCH BETTER responses, as people really see me doing better than what I did.....its INSPIRING !!!!!

The noteworthy responses in the last category are that it shouldn't be like an editorial, the writing is a bit stressed and the language is a bit heavy and cliched !! The only answer is Work In Progress !!!!!!

SUCCESS - this word holds the highest significance in all our lives. Everything we do is finally targeted in Achieving Success. It is the TEST of our lives and needs a lot of effort, struggle, sacrifice, strain...but after all is it worth ???

Yes, any individual will answer in affirmation and when asked indicators of the Achievement will list down Money and all that can be bought by Money....basically everything MONETARY. Is it the MONEY or SUCCESS ???

Success is a very very Subjective term affiliated in the most Objective manner with Monetary Benefits. It definitely isn't Objective. The rat race and the competition is to Achieve Monetary Benefits and never Success.

There is actually no Competition to Achieve Success as Success is very Intrinsic and Personal and no one competes you to achieve it. You can be really good at what you do, earn a decent living, but Intrinsically, be very Successful. It isn't an armband to be worn around as a tag to mark.

It has very often made me wonder, things we use of Great Ideas, Engineering, Food we Eat, Branded clothes and goods we use, would never have come up had all the Individuals in the whole world would yearn for SUCCESS - THE OBJECT.

This is my humble attempt to change the fast spreading notion that only to be Rich and Wealthy is being Successful. Undue and unnecessary pressure is put on the younger generations to join the specified streams well defined by the notions and psychology of parents and near and dear ones, without letting the prodigies to realise the Talent Within. We are preventing the future Tendulkars, Zuckerbergs, Ambanis to make it Real Big and be contained with the very OBJECTIVE SUCCESS.

Its been otherwise a helluva of a week, from torrid audit season to liberally used colorfully language verbal duels, from few shocks to lots of support, but tonight has been proved the Jinx with Tendulkar's Century to the HILT to end on a Heartbroken Crescendo... The Master must surely not be feeling so good about his century with the horrible loss....But as in Cricket, so as in Life....its Intrinsic what matters rather than the whole Exterior World watching you......तेंडल्या आता हा Jinx तोडाचे आणि शतक मारुण जिंकायचे !!!! (roughly translated into Break the Jinx and Win with a Century)

Eagerly awaiting responses and also A Very Happy VISHU and BAISAKHI !!!!

Cheers
KS :)

United by World Cup, Hazare, yet Divided by IPL

Hello Folks,

A bit early but was getting a bit itchy to write and also have so many reasons to. First of all, thanks for the responses to the start I made, really felt a good need to continue to write.

I got a lot of questions as to what made me write a blog ?? what will it be about ?? and why am I writing it ?? (being no celebrity, it is really difficult to answer these questions), but the simple reason is OUTPOUR !!!

And, to a thought out explanation, my situation is like that of VVS Laxman, coming out to bat with 3 days to survive with all stalwarts back in the hut.....know what I am doing but the whole future concept not concretely thought off.....

To continue from where I left, our country justified the sense of Adaptability I could see oozing out of us and our fellow countrymen.

In a span of less than just a good week three images are doing the rounds of all Media Coverage and our minds.

Two pictures, show the unity, yet the third picture paints the thoughts of diversity, though quite a healthy rivalry and also the biggest sporting phenomenon after the SUPERBOWL and EPL in club sports.

This indicates the complexities of us, our identity and our character. We as a nation accept things on its pure face value and start living with everything we have, we aspire to have, we don't have and also things which we never are going to have. This complexities are like a complete alter ego in ourself, which flairs up on occasions when the tide is against us.

We come together and yet also hold on to our own petty grudges after ages and ages of education on the very insignificant basis of caste, creed, color, race (to add a new one migration). We pride on education and litreacy but with such irrationality we are still uneducated and proving the laughing ghost of Winston Churchill right that we are not fit to be Independent.

We still need a 72 year old man to fight for our causes with people elected by us and we pride on youth empowerment. Its not the Government, not the Nation and certainly not any other external factor that requires CHANGE more than WE do INDIVIDUALLY. Always easy to find faults in friends, family, associates and all others but when it comes to self WE pass 100 on 100 on Self Evaluation.

Try writing a paragraph on things you as a person need to change and then any other person who you feels needs a change, it will show tremendous results.

Well KUDOS to Mr. Hazare to bring out the real value of ideas advocated by Mahatma Gandhi rather than just putting up his pictures, statues and winning votes for him being a EX CONGRESSMAN. I feel personally very happy that he will eat now.

On a much lighter note, the first packet of the 2 months Circus lived upto the expectation of us viewers, Raavi blasting on the Microphones and players performing as in a well organised and practiced performance to generate enough hype, tension, excitement and a mystery suspense to the end. SRK, dude you cannot WIN everywhere by tears....sometimes they are Genuine and for a Lost cause too.......

A sincere thanks to Mr. Modi, wherever he is watching his baby being Foster Parented by the Self Proclaimed Honest Individuals handling BCCI and IPL, who donot know the first law of INDEPENDENCE when dealing in ventures with Self Vested Interests........but yea very Powerful and Manupilative. Await your turn, till more powerful people enter the forray.

Enough for the nite as the Weekend is dedicated to Ernst & Young (oops S R Batliboi) damn LLP Act Implementation !!

Please offer some contradictory views to have a Constructive Dialogue :p

ADIOS !! God Bless !!

Baby Steps into the World of Writing......

Writing has always made me feel its the best form of expression. Without any sense of backlash....a serene way of expressing, saying stuff, appealing, analysing, contemplating, recording. It has always amazed me, but I knew one day I will have a tryst with Writing. I am a simple guy, studying, dreaming and trying to carve a niche for myself in these wide world, where everyone is common yet everyone individually extremely SPECIAL. The only catch is REALISATION.

Being my first, it is short and a bit naive, but with time and sharpening it will improve, atleast that is what I trust and rest is FAITH.

I basked in the national glory of becoming No. 1 a couple of days ago with arguably the whole of India, when MSD hit that every going never returning ball outside the airy fairy Wankhede at Marine Drive to spur to the top spot in a whiplash. But, my heart goes out to two people highly responsible for the ultimate culmination of the goal of 2011, and who were amongst the fanfare but for different purpose. One, the coach of the current Kiwi Team JOHN WRIGHT and the other our own Debut Commentator DADA (Sourav Ganguly)...they were equally deserving to glory but were not destined.

They were Special Commoners but missed the chance in 2003 and that was it. India in a way is he bunch of most adaptable people. In a span of three days the mirth of the winning is replaced by the grit of Mr. Hazare who is single handedly rallying the people of this country to fight a cancer called CORRUPTION.

These are two brilliant examples, of how a completely diverse country like India is united by Causes and Glory.

Hail to these new awakening India and the self belief will always be the torch bearer.

Off for now......Next Blog coming up very soon....

Cheers and Regards
